NEW ORLEANS CAJUN

DANCERS

Welcome To Our Home Page.
On this page we'll introduce you to our group and highlight the important areas you might benefit from.

There are thousands of dance organizations, each with a specific purpose or goal. Ours is different, we are like a family with no rules or regulations. Our main focus is to dance and help others learn how to do cajun and zydeco dancing.
We built this informational web site, to get our message out to a larger audience and to contact people that are interested in learning cajun and zydeco dancing.
If we can help you to learn cajun or zydeco dancing please contact one of our coordinators

My daddy told me that long time ago. For his generation, there never was a time when things moved ahead just as much as the 50s and 60s. Think of it. Hello electricity and electrical appliances! You made your way even to people living in the country! Paved roads. Pasteurized milk from a creamery. A school bus, a transfer, not a horse and wagon to town for the kids. Good prices for the rice crop. No easy street, but way better than the Depression and the War years, even the crazy Asian ones. Lots of people thought that way in the 50s and 60s. The music reflected this. It's proudly new and nostalgiac at the same time. Not at all in decline as you might have heard, but vibrant, confident. No wonder the renaissance of the 70s and 80s, up to the present! This Web site is already top heavy with musicians from the 50s and 60s: Aldus Roger, Ambrose Thibodeaux, Lawrence Walker, Nathan Abshire, Austin Pitre, Adam Hebert, Badeaux. But here are some more: Sidney Brown, Lionel Cormier and the Sundown Playboys, Leroy Broussard, Shorty Leblanc, Robert Bertrand, Lee Man Prejean and the Happy Playboys of Scott, Pee Wee Broussard, Doris Matte, Alphee and Shirley Bergeron, Joe Bonsall and the Orange Playboys, et al. WOW!
